La Boheme                  Opera Theatre of St. Louis, 2001

Paul Griffiths - The New York Times

… Opera Theater’s other productions include a game stab at Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie and a thoroughly enjoyable La Boheme.

In keeping with the company’s admirable policy, both works are given in English, the Rameau in a direct and effective new version by Margaret B. Stearns.  But it is Puccini’s masterpiece that really gains from having the words alive in the theater.  La Boheme also gains here from being sung by a fresh, likable cast whose members are the right age for their roles: Gerard Power, and Pamela Armstrong as Rodolfoand Mimi, Lester Lynch and Yali-Marie Williams as Marcello and Musetta, Kyle Ketelsen as Colline and Marcus DeLoach as Schaunard. …
